Not doing homework.

So I've managed to finish 2 books in as many days. Basically because I decided I didn't want to do much (or any) homework this weekend. Those are the first books I've managed to read this year, too. I can't believe it took me almost 3 whole months to have read 2 books! I blame taking 18 credit hours. And not having any book-based courses. I mean, I've read plenty of articles for my honors seminar, and many chapters of my zoology and public speaking textbooks, just not any actual books. I think I'm going to keep a list of the books I read, and then I can feel accomplished at the end of the year.

So far I have:
  1. Inbreeding, Incest, and the Incest Taboo, edited by Arthur Wolf & William Durham
  2. Like the Red Panda by Andrea Seigel

The first one was a scholarly book that I actually bought for anthropology last semester but we ended up not reading for the class. The second I picked up at a bookstore going-out-of-business sale. Both were pretty interesting, for different reasons - the first intrigued me because I'm a geek and like learning about stuff, especially biology-related stuff; the second I liked because it was well-written with realistic characters and good plot development.

In other news, the Werewolf bus is stupid. And not very good at making me feel safe. It's not really conducive to student safety to get to a timepoint 5 minutes early and leave right away instead of waiting until the scheduled time so that students don't come out in the middle of the night to catch a bus and then have to wait 40 minutes because the driver decided not to wait. Grr. So I wrote an indignant letter to the Wolfline people.

I should definitely be doing homework. I have a lot of reading and stuff to do for tomorrow. Except when I finish this I'll probably decide to check my email a couple times, then I might go to the C-store, and then I'll go to dinner, and then I'll have to get ready for my pre-vet meeting, and then I'll go to the meeting, and then I'll go get my car so it won't get towed, and then I'll finally stop procrastinating.

Alternatively, I could just get over it and do the reading now. Right after I check my email. ;-)
