Things I do
I'm weird. I've known it for a long time, and I've come to terms with it. But maybe I'm not so strange...maybe other people do the same "insane" things I do, they're just too scared to admit to it. So today I came up with a list of weird things I do that I hope other people do as well.
1. When the lights in a room flicker, I look around to make sure everyone else saw it. I figure there's always a 2% chance that I just blinked funny.
2. Sometimes I talk to myself. But then I go one step further and comment to myself about how I'm talking to myself, then I comment on the commenting. On any given day, a "conversation" might go like this: "Making a sandwich...and I'm out of mayo. And now I'm talking to myself about being out of mayo. And now I'm talking to myself about talking to myself about the whole sandwich thing."
This usually goes on until I'm done making the sandwich.
3. If I run into someone I only met one time several months ago, I try to avoid eye contact. But then when they tap me on the shoulder to say hi, I'll pretend like I didn't see them standing there waving at me...even though I totally saw them.
4. I don't remember important things by date or by my age. I remember them by what grade I was in, and figure the rest out backwards from there. For instance, I bought my first car junior year of college, which was 2003, so I was...20 years old. God, that car was shitty.
5. Sometimes I'll think about something so much, I forget if I actually said it, or if I just thought about saying it.
