I know *exactly* what you mean about Jane Eyre. If Helen had lived, Jane/Helen'd be my OTP - but Jane/teacher-who's-name-I-can't-remember also has potential. Not just for shipping, but just for friendshippyness. If you want, there are two fics about it on the Yuletide site, both excellent. ♥

Exactly! Honestly, I cried when Helen died. I think I'm in sort of a fragile emotional state right now.

Oh, friendshipping! I used to think it was boring and now I even prefer it to porn. I expect that will pass, though. :-)
