Life renews
I'm an Auntie!!! Friday, my brother and his wife birthed a beautiful 8 pound 10 ounce baby boy! I'm going to meet the newest member of the family next weekend. I'm excited about it. I could hear him crying on the phone, and he sounded so... NEWBORN. That mewling little wail that's half human, half kitten, and so beautiful it makes you cry.
Luckily for the mama of this 8 lbs 10 oz monster, she (a) is built about like me and therefore capable of not being ripped in half by such offspring and (b) had a C-section since the baby was sitting "feet down." Mama and baby are recovering. The baby was about a week and a half early. They had planned the C-section for next Wednesday, one week before her due date, because of the breech position. But Friday she encountered severe pre-eclampsia (sp?) and the doctor decided to go ahead and take the baby right then.
