I saw my doctor today for the first time since he marked me up in pre-op. It was a GREAT visit. I get to throw away their lame ass "support" bra and go back to my good lifters... 24/7 for the next three months. They took out one of my two drains and made an appointment for me next Monday, where they expect they'll get to take out the other. I got the stitch removed from my lower eyelid, I got new foam to pad my "support garment" (girdle), and got a lot of my questions answered:
Yes, I have to keep sleeping on my back. This will continue for 1 - 2 weeks after they take out the last drain.
Yes, I can start wearing under-wire bras again (YAY). In fact, they encourage it.
Yes, it's perfectly fine for me to start wearing the support garment I bought two sizes smaller than they one they put me in. The sooner the better.
No, I can't exercise for another four weeks. My arms will just have to stay flabby a little while longer.
Yes, I really do have to keep drinking enough water to drown a whale.
Yes, I can finally let the surgical tape fall off and replace it with clean strips.
Yes, I will eventually get copies of my before and after pictures.
The very best part was getting to see my "before" pictures!!! To see myself in their mirror today and then see what I looked like just two and a half weeks ago stunned me. The difference was remarkable even with all of my still very extensive swelling. It was amazing. Amazing. I was amazed. I still am. Some people have asked to see the before/after pictures, and although I agreed my heart wasn't in it. I just didn't know if people really wanted to see that much of me so I hadn't actually made up my mind about whether or not I'd post them. Hellz yeah, I'll post them! I can't wait!!!! As soon as I have them...
