Let's do this.
So, back to Florida for me I suppose. I found a flight that leaves Tuesday for $79, already booked. Now for my stuff I have in storage.... this is gonna suck. I pay $40 a month for the thing, and rent seems to keep going up every few months, so I've done the math, and if I rent a car, pile all my stuff in it, haul ass down to Florida and drop it off, then haul ass back up here and catch my flight down then I'm good as gold. But, its approximately 1140 miles each way. That's about 16 and a half hours of driving if I'm doing 70 the whole way there. At approximately 30mpg highway that's 76 gallons of fuel. You figure $2.10 on average for fuel, that's $159 in gas alone. :| I've always hated math. Oh, and yes this really is the cheapest way, if I rented a car from one location and dropped it off at another I'd be looking at paying $189 a day rather than the $16 a day plus taxes and insurance I'm paying now. Or, if I went ahead and flew down and rented a car from Florida and did it that way its about $89 a day even when returning the car to the same location.
