(no subject)
So I was fired today.
:'(
Long story short, me being fat and unhealthy was making it harder and harder to wake up early and get loads done on time. It was raining like crazy when I was in Columbia Missouri two days ago, and I was in a rush and didn't take the time to carefully read my work assignment, and I thought that I had until 2400 to make the delivery yesterday on the 25th. So I didn't bother setting my alarm for the morning because I thought I could sleep in and everything would be fine. I also set my phone on vibrate since I didn't set my alarm, well when my driver manager called me in the morning and couldn't get a hold of me that was the last straw I guess. I was called into a phone conference this morning and was told by my boss Jeff that I was being terminated and to clean out my truck and that was that. I'm staying at a friend's house for now, I already filed for unemployment and was concerned about whether or not I would be eligible, but after talking with my roomate I had durring training, Joe, he basically put my worries to rest.

(12:23:29 AM) phoenixsmasher: but if you were fired because you cussed out your boss or something, then that doesn't entitle you to anything, or am I mistaken?

(12:24:51 AM) joe: Yeah you can be fired for cussing out your boss just as long as you didn't hit him you still get UC benefits

(12:28:32 AM) joe: Keep in touch... I am going to bed... Yeah don't worry about a thing. Plus I live about 22 minutes for the dept of workforce develop and can help you expedite anything you need for the state of wisconsin

So for now I'm just waiting and seeing what happens. If I'm collecting unemployment I can just stay in a hotel for the next few months until I move to LA with Arin and the gang. Sucks not being a trucker anymore though, although it really was unhealthy for me. Ah well, onto bigger and better things I guess....
