Back home
I currently have no power at my house, but fortunately my parents never lost power.
The lack of power means a lack of gas stations open as well as grocery stores, but that should hopefully be a non-issue by the end of the week. Currently have no idea when I go back to work. Boss told me yesterday that it all depends on when New Orleans gets up and running, and I'm hoping since they are letting residents back in tomorrow that means they'll wait at least another day. Don't want to fight that traffic in just to go to work.
No damage to my place beyond a few leaning fences. I drove by the soon to be purchased house.. the large oak tree on the corner seems to have lost a large number of its limbs, but as far as I could tell looking at the front, none seem to have fallen on the house. Will hopefully find out something more definite about that next week.
I'm so exhausted right now because we drove in during the middle of the night, but otherwise everything is OK.
