Out of dodge
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am up in Minden, LA right now (30 minutes east of Shreveport) and in a safe place. The cats are with me as well Jak. My parents and their cats are in other room here in the hotel. My brother was supposed to leave and start heading toward MS around 12 today. Nothing to do now but wait it out and see what happens. If you've been watching.. I live on the east bank of Jefferson Parish and am therefore one of the ones at lesser risk.. mostly flooding is what we have to worry about.
Also, Fox News is full of crap. Katrina being a cat. 3 is not what killed 1800 people. The levees breaking AFTER THE STORM HAD PASSED killed 1800 people. Just keep in mind that a lot of these national networks are going for sensationalism right now and it's not quite as bad as they are essentially hoping it's going to be. It's not something you want to stick around in but it's not likely to be the mass devastation they are practically salivating at the mouth to see.
