SyFy Monday night commentary

I actually don't have that much to say about Eureka except "Welcome back!" and it's about time that Eureka and Warehouse 13 are on the same night. Oh, but about the previews for next week? Holy geekgasm, Batman! Felicia Day on Eureka is about the most awesome geek match ever.

Warehouse 13: Oh GOD I hated that Myka wasn't there, but damn, I think I really like the new guy - that was hard. Then OMFG Shakespeare! ("The bird of Avalon" - headdesking forever, thank you Pete.) Of course I knew we were going to see Myka as soon as we saw it was in Denver, but I have to say I genuinely wasn't sure if this was going to be a final goodbye or a welcome back until right towards the end. When we saw Helena I literally shrieked aloud. But it's all OK, I can even live with the catsuit because Myka is back. And I really do like the new guy.

Alphas: even with the awesomeness of Callum Keith Rennie and David Strathairn and lines like, "Why do I feel I'm in a Beckett play when I talk to you?", my overall feeling is still "meh". Which is a shame because there's some really potentially interesting stuff there. I have to admit I'm intrigued by Gary's character as a sort of re-imagining of autism. It's a potentially awesome idea in the middle of a lot of mediocrity. But I'm not going to give up on it just yet. I do appreciate that nobody has trotted out that "most people use only 10% of their brain's capacity" twaddle yet - that was why I could never watch Heroes.
