Wow, what a week!

The big kids went back to school on Monday and J and I resumed our normal routine of going out, playing at home and lunch and a nap. Our "going out" consisted of walking to that posh deli in the next neighborhood and meeting with one of the owners.  Wow, they're interested!  They (obviously) don't want to commit to too much at ( Read more... )

Really glad 'work' have decided to stock your gluten free cake - it is far superior to the one we've tried in the shop in the past!

So re piano teacher - my mom is coming to us regularly on a Friday to look after Ada. Might it be worth considering lessons with her? Ideally when the boys come home from school because A has her nap then. She (Mom, not Ada) has 40-odd years experience, and is very into instrument learning as a 'fun friend for life'. :-)

Thanks - yes, I popped in today to pick up some tofu and finalized things with the boss. I'm bringing a gluten-free chocolate cake to work on Wednesday morning - we'll see how it goes!

Regarding the piano lessons, the thought did occur to me when I ran into her yesterday but I didn't know if she'd be into it. It would be really awesome. Can you find out if your mom is interested and how much she charges? They can both play a little, though B practices far more than M, and can read music quite well. He's had a year of violin and over a year of trumpet on top of the bit of piano he's been doing at home. M can play just a bit but is keen to do more. Thanks!

I've FB'd you with her price and suggested location. I would have offered our place, but our piano needs a LOT of work before I'd be happy for someone to learn to play on it. Actually, it is SC's piano; mine's on long-term loan to an ex-pupil of mine. The joys of bringing two households together who value music...
