Confession Wednesday: Sun Energy = Verbose Phoebe edition

Jan 18, 2012 13:34

I confess that I steal names/classification ideas from the world of co-counseling.  For example, sometimes I like to say "person of African heritage" when talking about black folk.  Recently, I learned the term " People of the Global Majority," in place of people of color.  Hullo?  I like that!

I confess that sun gives me energy.

I confess the blindingly (no pun) stupid obviousness of the above statement.  But still.

I confess a renewed love for Sam Cooke.

I confess that I actively work to not look at the statistics generated on my blog. (Notice how I linked to the blog to redirect you?  Manipulative?  Perhaps.)  Curiously, what has happened is I now obsessively observe the statistics on my Flickr photo collection page, of all websites!

I confess that I rode my bike to work for the first time in maybe five days and loved it, even though the wind made my commute take twice as long.  One favorite moment was watching a large black guy in fuzzy slippers ask the recycling truck-guy if he could toss his own recycling into the truck!  :^)

I confess that my friend Caro has inspired me to listen to more country.  And by country, I mean "medium sized hair, and Dolly."

I confess that I think, in my relationship with my brother, we're polarized into the positions of positive vs. negative.  He is either silent, or complaining.  I am either silent, or encouraging.  Someone should study us.

I confess that I don't like word-overload.  Curious, considering how much I read/write.  At the moment, I'm trying to read Dave Eggers "A Heart-Breaking Work of Staggering Genius" and I keep thinking: aggh!  Too many words!

I confess that I remain on the fence about whether or not I'm growing my hair out.  However, I haven't gotten it cut.
