Confession Tuesday: First Week 2012 edition

Jan 03, 2012 14:54

I confess that the new year has supposedly begun, but I'm still a mess from the old one.  Heaps of laundry waiting to be folded, bills yet to pay, unresolved emotional states, organizing to be organized.

I confess last year, I discovered a truth about how I write my current novel: it prefers to be written in concentrated chunks.  It's my task this year, I believe, to figure out how to make this work.

I confess that, related to the above, I'm considering applying for a fellowship . . . somewhere.

I confess I'm too tired to apply for or even put energy into thinking about Boston Ladies Rock Camp, which I'd intended to attend this spring.  Turns out, this is okay because my mother (!) has expressed interest in taking part in 2013.  Watch out!

I confess that my long (read: ignored) nails are making it difficult to type.

I confess that I enjoy reading about everyone's year-in-review/looking-forward here on LJ.

I confess that nearly every day I ruminate on Theodore Roosevelt's saying: Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
