from
zagzagael, ten of my favorite Movie Moments:
1. The Usual Suspects: the very end as Verbal leaves the police station and the fax comes through just a hair too slow and then he gets into the car driven by Kobayashi and we hear the voiceover "and just like that" 'poof' "he's gone."
also: "Do you know what happens if you go back to prison?" "fuck your father in the shower, then have a snack." And the beginning with the flames as the trail goes along and then is abruptly extinguished by piss.
2. Waking Ned Devine: the funeral scene; the chicken dinners (and when they take one over to Ned and they're all worried about stepping on his intestines and it turns out it's just brussels sprouts)
3. Much Ado About Nothing: the showers (naked RSL!).
4. Good Bye, Lenin!: when the mother manages to get out of bed and outside and sees the pieces of statuary being taken away, and the sun. the end scenes when they shoot the rockets up. (this is a must-see movie. seriously. of all of these, this is the ONE.)
5. Dr. Strangelove: detailing the contents of the emergency packs; the lecture on the evils of floridation
6. The Birdcage: the PIRIN TABLETS. Agador dancing in the kitchen with the mop.
7. The Taste of Tea: the uncle with the recording studio singing about mountains: the little girl with the massive doppelganger (also a must-see movie.)
8. Singin' in the Rain: "Dignity. Always Dignity." the career montage at the beginning. Cosmo singing "Make 'em Laugh".
9. Casablanca: the end (DUH.) Louie at the bar. "I am shocked, SHOCKED! to find that there is gambling at this establishment." "Your winnings, sir ..." "Thank you." *pockets them* Our first glimpse of Rick: "will i see you tonight?" "i never make plans that far ahead."
10. Vertigo: the scene on the roof; the scene in the redwoods; the very end, at the mission.
