First Day

Jun 13, 2007 22:39

Alright, so orientation was yesterday, but whatever, that doesn't count.
First day at the library proved to be nothing special. Found out some things I didn't know, looked at a lot of numbers, and spent a lot of time on my knees (SHELVING KIDS BOOKS, YOU PERVS).
One of my fellow pages, who tells me she has worked there a year, seems knowledgeable and personable enough. However, there is something about her that confuses me.
On two prior occasions, I was told flip flops are completely not allowed, and upon reading the dress code manual, found that neither sweats or shirts with sayings on them are allowed. All of which my co-worker was wearing.
What? Oh well. Nothing huge.
My bike broke down on the way there, it was a bitch. Luckily, Mom was working just down the street, and I still got to work on time. This is especially aggravating, since we just put $70 into this bike specifically so I could ride it to work. Tomorrow I'm taking the bus. Yippie.
First sectional on Friday. W00t. I am taking this section leader thing to town and back!
Working at the library sometimes makes me mad, because I want to stop and read the books I'm shelving, but that doesn't work, haha. I'm not getting paid to read.

Also, I'm pissed we don't have a working washing machine. Washing clothes in a bucket my ass.

work, disappointment
