OK, time to do another entry. Since I'm not good at sitting down to bore the masses with "what I did today" (which so far, was watching Deep Space 9 episodes on tape.... YES, VHS tapes, not DVD! wow), you get this:
Over the past life, I've continually wondered what humans would have to do to finally make the world close enough to perfect to call it a day. Now what would Phil do, you ask? (haha, WWPD) Well, here you go:
1. First off, legalize all victimless crimes. People serving jail time because they were caught with an ounce of hash?? I think not. People will be a lot more apt to want to function in society if they know that they won't be ruined for killing a few brain cells.
2. Once and for all, declare the "national debt" a sham. There is no debt, it's all funny-money anyway. As soon as no one has any faith in the Federal Reserve Bank any longer, the better we all will be.
3. No more debts, period. Exhonerate peoples' debts on the spot. Give everyone one 2nd chance to rebuild things.
4. Maximum wage. Let's let people succeed at business if they want, but put a cap on personal income at $999,999.99 a year. Fuck the rich :)
5. Bust up the huge corporations. Tear down the huge multinational conglomerates by setting a cap on overall size, and make it illegal (once again) to build trusts and monopolies.
6. Recall ALL US military personnel from all around the planet. If we need to get somewhere in the world for any reason, we have the means available now (aircraft carriers, cargo planes, etc) to get people in hotspots within a few days. China doesn't have troops in Puerto Rico! Iraq: apologize for fucking up their country, send over waves of people to rebuild (that AREN'T Halliburton employees), then STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THE MIDEAST. End of story.
7. Scale back the national defense spending to a shoestring budget. We don't need an upgrade for our nuclear arsenal... I repeat, WE DON'T NEED NUKES!!! Or satellite weapons. There is no defense against China or someone launching a handful of nukes at us... short of somehow getting the Enterprise to come back in time to save us so that we can invent warp drive & explore the galaxy.... as if :)
That's a start for now.... from that, along with a fresh attitude for moving forward with the world, well, it will begin to move us past the "growing a thumb" stage, I think.
And yes, I am part socialist-democrat, part libertarian :)
Other than that, I was a lazy lump today.
End transmission.
