sharp darts, double dutch

My computer is acting wonky again. It had a nice period of stasis, but now it's back for more carnage and woe. And I haven't selected a nice, cheap-arse replacement for it yet. It knows, it knows. It's alive, I say. God help us all.

Umm, hi.

Got two packages in the mail today: Brian Sibley's LOTR: Making of the Movie Trilogy which I got for $5 using my fab book club bonus points. Also a beginner's Pilates kit (video, stretch band and three cushy support things that are supposed to, em, do stuff). The block in the kit will be good for whenever I get myself back into yoga. Now all I need is a mat. But I do this stuff on carpeting, so I never felt I needed one. Yes, body, I'm whupping you into shape. Or something. Tomorrow. Or maybe the day after that. Well, it's coming. Don't say you weren't warned.

Speaking of bodies, I think I have a pinched nerve. Part of my arm and left fingers have been slightly tingly for the past day and a half. In fact I truly and completely freaked out tonight when I started getting dizzy and shaky at work, 'cause I'm thinking: not feeling well at all plus "sleepy" left arm... LEFT arm....!! *paranoia* I think the not feeling well was 1.) the remains of whacked-out, loopy cold meds in my system (I will not take Contact ever again) and 2.) not having eaten anything except a fake-chicken-pattie sandwich for lunch. Yeah, that'll do it. But I royally flipped out. I had myself so very scared. Actually prayed when I went to the bathroom for privacy and fresh air (so to speak), which doesn't happen often, especially at work. I'm fine now; I just need to stop being such an emotional nutball.

In lighter news...
Le Tigre was on that godawful Carson Daly late night show tonight. Wellll, that was weird! And amazing. "Deceptacon"---first album, old school Le Tigre! I wish I'd known, I would have taped it. Yes, dancey riot grrrl on fuckin' network television! Take that, mainstream!
Kathleen Hanna and her "feminist" armpits of doom on NBC. Who'd a thunk it??
