• According to Pitchfork, Reeve Carney will be re-recording Jeff Buckley's songs for the Jeff biopic in which he's starring. I know such a procedure is not unusual for a musical biopic. And I know Jeff's mother gave her stamp of approval. But this news makes me very, very twitchy. No one sounds like Jeff. And should anyone really even try?
• Reading through the latest issue of EW, I found this:
AC/DC producing line of wines like "Highway To Hell" cabernet sauvignon, "Hells Bells" sauvignon blanc. While early sales of "You Shirazed Me All Night Long" are a bit sluggish, the band is hoping that "For Those About To Rosé, We Salute You" will boost orders in Q4.
*snickers* Sounds like something from The Onion. But, more or less, it's legit.
• Neutral Milk Hotel box set!
• The Decemberists covering Sugar's "If I Can't Change Your Mind."
• SuperWiki is saying that Kripke has a new project: a tv show based on the Deadman comics. It's cool that he'll be doing something else and I'm curious to see what comes of this new project. But some tiny, greedy part of me wishes he was still putting more energy into SPN. I don't have a hate-on for Sera like some fans, but last season was uneven and I can't help but wonder if some of that was from Kripke's decreased involvement. I also miss his writing.
• Doctor Who's back tomorrow, yay!
