The words lived lower. Below words.

✧ Saw True Grit. Enjoyed it, minus something that happened near the end. Nice, traditional western though - loyal enough to the original, but with a satisfying more contemporary edge.

✧ I kind of want to see The Mechanic... just because Ben Foster is in it.

✧ Not going to the Steve Earle concert. Not because I've chickened out, but because it sold out. Which I discovered when I went to the website with the intention of buying a ticket. In the immortal words of Bobby Singer: balls.

✧ Read Aimee Bender's The Particular Sadness Of Lemon Cake. Loved it. Because I'm lazy, here is the gibberish/not!review I posted at Goodreads: An everyday fairy tale. Sad, broken magic on the periphery. Disconnect, subtitled in the fragile scrawl of connection. Of existence, survival and being. A beautiful work.

Funny how many reviews gave the book negative points simply because the dialogue was written without quotation marks. Have they really not read books like that before? I'm an anal retentive grammar whore, but that did not bother me in the slightest. Also, didn't realize so many people hate magic realism.

✧ Further evidence that SPN has eaten my brain: the last two books I read, I pictured the main male characters looking somewhat like Jared and Jensen, respectively.

nutmeg3 passed along this gem: Said the Gramophone's top 100 songs of 2010. Free music! Lots of great stuff there.

✧ SPN is back tomorrow! (Right, CW? *eyebrows*) With real!Sammy! Please to have brother hugging, please?

✧ Please to have no more ice storms, Mother Nature, please.
