So Much For a Two-Hour Delay

Feb 13, 2008 10:27

When you live 3-4 blocks from your office, as I do, it seems silly to heed the 2hr Fed delay (I don't work for the Fed, but we follow their schedule). I was up early today anyway, doing a yoga DVD. It was ok--it did the job, but I could use more of a challenge. The triangle and warrior poses, as well as the half bridge, hit the spot, however. I was horrified at how loudly my knees popped during the triangle pose. Anyhow, I did flip through the book that came with the DVD. There are more poses in there, ones that I remember enjoying (sun salutations, fish, shoulder stand) and I think if I just follow the book (perhaps with some Cat Power in the background), that will be more fun than the DVD. It was a nice way to start the day, however. 430 minutes for the month.

If I keep this pace up, I will be well on the way to 1,000 minutes and thus "earning" my spa treatment. I am trying to decide if I want a facial, massage, or a wrap/scrub type thing. I'm leaning towards the wrap--my face is in shockingly good condition (I chalk that up to a better diet and being better about skincare), and I get back rubs for free now. ;) A wrap, however, would do wonders for my dried out winter skin. I'll budget about $100 for it--that should be more than sufficient.

Today's lunch:

1st Large Container: Gyoza (2 shrimp, 2 veggie), red cabbage
2nd Large Container: Green beans, carrots, and sesame shiitake vinaigrette
1st Small Container: Diced mango and blueberries
2nd Small Container: 4 mini hot dogs, mini blueberry muffin

Based on my dinner last night, the gyoza and cabbage, veggies, and fruit should be more than sufficient for lunch. The mini hotdogs and muffin will be my pre-gym snack. Since I'm not eating until 8, that will help tide me over.

ETA: Upcoming Food Bank dates are March 22 and April 26. Let me know if you would like to join us. I will also accept nominations for lunch spots. They should comfortably seat between 8-10 people, and parking should not be too stressful.
