Here are my current thoughts on the various TV Shows out there. I will be as vague as possible or else provide cuts.
The Better Set
Desperate Housewives: Showing signs of life, thanks to Dana Delany and a resurgence of Marcia Cross.
I find the Edie sub-plot annoying and out of character for her. Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker are still strong. Teri Hatcher continues to be the weak point of the show.
Brothers and Sisters: I find the show supremely watchable this season. I see some points about the storylines being cliched, but I am otherwise enjoying it.
Dirty Sexy Money: Love the twins. Love Donald Sutherland and Peter Krause.
Ugly Betty: Wins my award for favorite show of the season right now. Consistently has strong acting and whipsmart dialogue. I don't think this show has a weak point right now.
30 Rock: Last week was comic genius. Give Baldwin the Emmy now.
Friday Night Lights: Still hooked. Am not as bothered by the Tyra/Landry sub-plot as others seem to be, though I'm not a big fan of it either.
Escapism
House: Great dialogue, great acting, but I have lost focus on the last few eps before the big reveal of the diagnosis.
Reaper: I find it amusing on an episodic level, but they need to jettison the "I can't tell my crush about my demonic duties" angle because it's dragging the entire show down.
Pushing Daisies: I still don't like Anna Friel, but the other actors on the show are entertaining and they get points for having Dash Mihok and Jamma Mays guest star AND the TMBG reference.
America's Next Top Model: Crack, pure and simple.
Gossip Girl: Not nearly as cracktastic as The OC or Dawson's, but I'll take it. Like Blake Lively lots. The girl who plays Blair needs acting lessons.
Grey's Anatomy: Izzie continues to annoy me. Lexie Grey really annoys me. More Bailey. More Callie.
Supernatural: "Bad Day at Black Rock" was the best ep this season. Amazing timing. Last week was eh. Still compulsively watchable.
Moonlight: I don't really pay attention to it unless Jason Dohring is on. I take my Logan where I can get him.
Below Expectations
K-Ville: I love Anthony Anderson, so I tuned in. It's currently stacked up on my DVR and will likely be erased. It's just . . . not interesting.
Heroes: I am growing weary. Too many characters, not enough substance and heart behind them. I don't know if Kristen Bell's stunt casting is going to work. I'm kind of sick of Hiro in Feudal Japan and wish he would come back and interact with everyone. The wonder twins continue to bore me. Love the new girl in New Orleans (Myra? see--I can't even keep their names straight)--I say jettison everyone else new. The "93% of the world's population is dead" angle intrigues me from a dystopic standpoint.
Cane: Stacked up on DVR. Will probably be deleted.
Private Practice: Snore. But I love Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs so I DVR it anyway.
Big Shots: I gave up.
ER: Stacked on DVR. Will probably be deleted.
I will now take comments from the floor.
