We do this every year. Just a picnic and nature provides the show. Despite inviting several folks tonight, we had just ourselves and J and A. These friends of ours had never been. Big crowd tonight. Threatening rain and several "maybes" instead of yeses, but I stalwartly packed strawberry shortcake and fruit to share and off we went. The rain held off a while but then began to sprinkle. Our annual "end of the summer" picnic thing. We ended up having 11 people in our group .. many of them newbies who had never seen this event. Rowan Wood went and had a friend come. Our annual swift picnic has gone off well. We had library lady from sci-fi book club and her sister. We also had J and G and their adorable toddler come.
