I was in Philadelphia
for about a week. Thus not posting much. It was a most pleasant week. I spent one entire day pretty much sleeping (okay, there was a walk early on). There was some looking at colleges, including my own alma mater, with prospective student niece. It was fun to be back on campus. The information session was interesting, but I got bored on the tour (nothing I hadn't seen before!) and dropped out in favor of sitting on the lawn in an Adirondack chair and retreating to the parlors when it got hot and admiring the portrait of my former advisor and recent president of the college.
Also there was a lot of ping pong, dog walking, eating (more ice cream than I normally consume in a month -- I think I may have put back on the five pounds I lost in the hospital, which is GOOD -- I wanted those five pounds back!), watching Star Trek, reading, crossword puzzles, and of course sleeping. So, a lot like a stay in some restful spa place where little is expected of you.
Alas, I have to go grocery shopping now and resume functional life. And later I have to go to the hospital (they couldn't get me a morning appointment this week). Back to the routine. But then it's always nice to see the kitties again.
