So I only had one thing to do during the runup to my brother's wedding: prepare a best man's toast. With all my free time as the house went mad, I created a native macintosh version of my friend
Randy Hoyt's UniGreek program.
UniGreek Mac will translate beta code into polytonic Greek characters (see picture above). The program is designed to be used by academics, scholars, students, and anyone who likes Greek! If you'd like to try the program out, you may download it
here as a zip file. Don't know what beta code is? The program includes ample instructions and will also let you know how to install a unicode font capable of displaying Greek characters.
Right now, the program is Mac release only, OS 10.2 or greater required. A Windows version and a Linux version may or may not be released, likewise with a MacOS 9 version. The OS X version is in beta, although the program should function perfectly. A few more changes will likely be made before the program is given an official home on the web and let loose into the wild.
