How do you know a school visit's going to be a great one? Well, for starters, when you turn onto the school's street, you're greeted by this sign.
The day did not disappoint. Sharon Whisnand, my host librarian, put together an amazing day. Here we are posing with the library's guard. As you can see, it's tough being an Astros fan these days.

This winter, I'm going to be working with about 25 kids from Canyon Creek Elementary. We're going to create a book trailer for my upcoming picture book, The Unforgettable Season.
Speaking of unforgettable (nice transition, right?), I spent the next day at Old Town Elementary. I visited Old Town a number of years ago. In fact, it was one of the first schools I ever visited. Here I am with Keri Thrift and her son, Will. That's my new tee shirt. Old Town always has great shirts. Last time, they gave me two, and up until last year, I still had them both, as you can see in this You Tube vid.
I had lunch with a great group of kids. We talked about video games, cartoons, movies, and The Wizards of Waverly Place -- everything you'd expect at an author visit.
