As I'm currently bored and don't really feel like playing Prince of Persia or Tales of Legendia I thought I'd try an experiment in which I write four drabbles from beginning to end in the time it takes the Broken Social Scene CD to play from start to fifth or sixth song, probably sixth. As such its probably going to have grammar errors and other nasty things like that.
Another challenge for me is that I want to incorporate whatever I write in these drabbles into future stories, so that means they need to fall within my personal fanon.
The drabble pairings or characters are these
Charlie/Rosemerta
Terry and Anthony
Ernie/Demelza
Adrian Pucey and Hannah Abbott
Charlie/Rosemerta story
"Did you ever think it would be like this, Charlie?" Rosemerta wrote across what would be the third page of her letter. "Last night I dreamt that The Three Broomsticks burned to the ground. Not even a stick of my past remained in the ashes and all I could think of was what I would be looking forward to. I saw you waiting with my bags in hand near a portkey made out of an old boot and that was all it took to make me forget everything. They say that one's past is everything that took them to their present. Can I truly ever leave it behind? When I move will the longing for what has been my home ever cease? Did it ever cease for you? Is home where you make it? I suppose I'll know soon."
the third song just began so I better start getting faster at this.
Adrian and Hannah
"Adrian, do you mind switching Thursday for Friday? I have a dinner party that wants to rent out your office for the evening and they've had to make some changes."
"Well then it looks like they'll have to make some more because I've already promised a few clients that I'd see them that evening."
"I can set you up in my office."
"Your office has a nude picture of your husband hanging on the wall. I'm not using your office, Hannah. Perhaps the dinner party could use your office."
"Why are you being so difficult, Adrian?"
"Hannah, I have been renting out that backroom in your bar for the last four months now. I am always here on Thursday nights and everyone knows this. In my business its good to be predictable. Now then, if your dinner party want to make a deal with me then I am perfectly willing to set up something in which I could tell my other clients to push back their appointments to next Tuesday night."
Hannah gave him a hard stare, but knew from past experiences that Adrian didn't back down once he'd set his mind on anything. "Fine, Adrian, but you'd better not ask too much from them. I have a reputation to keep as well."
"How many times have I told you that my success depends upon yours. I would never do anything to hurt your business."
Hannah shook her head and went back to her office to let her customers know the bad news.
Ernie/Demelza
"Demelza," Ernie shouted excitedly as he entered the house, sweating from the yard work he'd been doing only a few moments ago. "Cessily's sent us a letter."
"All right, I'm coming," Demelza said from upstairs. When she arrived the two proud parents gave each other a grin. It was Cessily's fifth year at Hogwart's and so far had been doing quite well. Opening the letter Ernie started to read it aloud until he saw that the letter read
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Macmillan"
"Mr. and Mrs.?"
Ernie read down further while Demelza gradually paled with each word she read.
"Cessily's pregnant?"
Two minutes left
Terry and Anthony
"Anthony, can you meet me at Brixton's tonight? I wanted to have a talk with you about-"
"Um, could it wait, Terry?"
"No, Anthony I really need to see you as soon as possible."
"Fine, see you at seven. I can only spare you an hour though."
"All right."
Anthony turned to his wife who was wearing the flimsiest piece of lingerie he'd ever seen. "Monet, it'll just be-"
"Go Anthony, but you'd better hurry back. Janey's babysitter is going to be back here at ten."
Just finished it and we're now at the 7th song, which is one song too many. Oh well, hope you all enjoy watching or not watching the Super Bowl tonight!
