Thank you, John McCain
I would like to thank John McCain for effectively taking himself out of the race for president with his VP choice.
Where Obama picked a running mate that compensates for his weaknesses, McCain picked a running mate that he seems to hope will get him votes. She pushes all the right conservative buttons - NRA, anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage. Plus she's a former beauty queen! woot! Fantastic though this all sounds, we're going to ignore the fact that she's never been to Washington, comes from the most pork-barrel hungry state in the country, and her major political accomplishment is being mayor of a city the size of my high school.
