a rant..
I am awash in a sea of self centered people.
I find it amazing. You could say to someone... i am dying of cancer and they would tell you how bad thier hangnail is.
You can share how you know of a family who has no electric and they dont care.
you can tell them your broke and their comment is .. so am i .. do you like my new suchandsuch?
(on a sidenote.i am amazed at how many people in this group want to legislate kindness and super squshy programs.)
I just cant stand it. I am tired of being the only person who listens.. and is seldom listened too. I know that there are some ppl who do listen and do care, but the vast majority of ppl irritate me in their complete self centeredness...
It is not just me. I watch ppl step all over other people all the time and it irritates me.. if you are sooo damn 'ecologically minded' and so 'socially concious' listen to your family.. help out your friends... Dont run off and dump money in a program that has nothing to do with the stuggles your town is faced with. Help out a familiar face with sincerity.. not just the one on TV that you can brag about ...maybe you wont get the tax deduction, maybe it isnt famous. However, it does show that you see what is around you.. not just waht is in your TV.
dont look down your nose at the person in the older car. clothes, shoes. Make time in your race to keep up with the jones to call a real friend. if you have one...
