Chuck vs Season 2 DVDs

Today I took the day off and broke in my "Chuck" season 2 dvds.

First, I just want to say "I LOVE Chuck!"  Seriously, this is one of those shows I will do anything to save.  And it is the only show currently on air that has not disappointed me in some fashion.  If you don't watch Chuck yet I implore you to give it a shot.  Pretty much everyone on my F'list will adore it.

That being said, I'm a little pissed at the person (people) in charge of putting together this DVD set.  The S1 dvd set for Chuck was pretty lame - only 13 eps and limited special features - but I blamed that on the fact that it was put together during the writers' strike.  After all who was going to come in and do commentary tracks for dvd sets when that sort of revenue was one of the things being fought over.  There is no such excuse for this set and it could use one.

There are no episode commentary tracks.  There are no extended episodes, and "Chuck vs. the Ring" could certainly have done with one given the awesomeness of those deleted scenes.  There are only 2 real featurettes and neither contains give anything in depth from the cast, crew or TPTB just short interview clips.  Just about the only thing that there are plenty of are deleted scenes, most of which are amusing though it is fairly clear why they were deleted.

In many cases it would be ok to leave a show's awesomeness to speak for itself. Unfortunately for the "Chuck" fans of the world the show needs help and exposure and this DVD set does not pull its weight.
