Something was wrong. Something was really wrong. Kara had heard a scream from somewhere, but just as she'd been about to investigate, she'd heard another. And another, like they were spreading. What was going on here?!
She was hovered above the streets of the city, tense with confusion. Everywhere she looked, people seemed to be going crazy. Was this the computer's doing again? One thing after another, right?
She frowned. There wasn't anything she could do to stop crazed random acts of violence. Reasoning didn't seem to be an option. And she couldn't very well hurt them.
She took to flying again, trying to rack her brain of ideas though her thoughts kept turning to Tim, Cissie, and Thirteen. She hoped they were alright...
Hilde had managed to escape to a high rise rooftop in order to survey everything happening here. There had been chaos and fights breaking out left and right in the streets, everywhere she looked. She couldn't get away, so she went up. Up to a roof where she could see everything and try to locate the heart of the commotion and maybe even its source, if it was something visible.
It was as she surfaced that a large flying... somethingflew overhead. She looked up.
"...Huh??" a girl? In a... cape She looked dumbfounded but managed to comment "...Superwoman?"
"Supergirl!" Brainiac 5 called from below as he flew up to meet his fellow super hero.
He had a lead to a possible causation to whatever was responsible for this crisis, but as to a solution, he was still calculating. He closed the distance between them and offered a curt nod, almost, and inappropriately smiling briefly, catching himself so quickly she probably wouldn't have even noticed. At best, he could have been compared to the expression of the Mona Lisa.
Kara blinked, her hearing catching a feminine voice closer to her over the rest of the commotion. She looked down to see who had spoken over the screams, noticing a woman standing upon a rooftop. She paused to hover a moment. Did she need help?
It was as she was hovered there that a more familiar tone caught her ears, drawing her attention from the woman. "Brainy!" She exclaimed, obviously happy to see him. Her face lit up, despite the situation below.
She nodded in response to his question, her expression becoming serious once again. "Yeah, what's goin' on here, Brainy? This is way weird." As she finished speaking, her gaze returned to the petite woman on the roof.
"I'm not." Hilde looked irritated when the green trouble troll came into view. Sure, he wasn't a jerk but he was a know-it-all and it rubbed her the wrong way. So condescending. She looked a little put out to see him but she knew he was a smart one, and just a bit...she was relieved to see him. He probably knew something.
Perhaps it rubbed her the wrong way because he really did know it all? Brainy nodded to Kara but first descended to speak to Hilde as well as Kara, motioning for Kara to follow in his lead. "Based on police reports, the local news and based on observation alone, there is some stimulus causing people to wreck havoc on themselves and others. I've traced interference to a television network; the one that the Joker had hijacked a few months ago." Brainy explained. He looked to Hilde, an eye narrowed, hesitant to ask her the following: "You're familiar with this level of technology, and as I recall, a hacker. Would you be willing to assist us in an investigation?"
Kara, of course, had followed behind Brainy and listened to everything, waiting patiently like a good girl. She caught Brainy's eye when he nodded to her and smiled, nodding back.
She flew to Hilde's side, lifting the girl easily into her arms. "Alley-oop! Hang on tight!" She grinned, and flashed her a little smirk. "By the way... it's Supergirl." She winked, to let her know she hadn't been offended.
Hilde just blinked, even as she was lifted up into the slighter woman's arms. "I ah...sorry...about that?" she was awestruck at the least. Was Wondergirl going to...was she going to be flown over the city at...at this height? She found her arms wrapping tight, as requested.
Naturally, it was no trouble to Kara carrying Hilde the whole way, and she followed Brainy to their destination. When they arrived, she landed softly and set Hilde down gently, keeping her arms out to steady the woman in case she'd been shaken up by the flight.
"N-no..." Hilde seemed flustered but she wasn't air-sick. "That was just... bracing. Not what I'm used to." she shook a little bit once she was set down but she moved along after Brainy, needing the walking to get herself out of the shakes and into calm-faced business.
She did stop to look the girl in the eye "Thank you...for bringing me here."
"Not a problem." Brainy replied, stepping down onto the roof and moving forward to the door, easily opening the door using a combination of strength and lazer cutting technology. He moved down the stairs, flying really, there was no reason to run, and he was used to flying anyway.
Calling back, "The main broadcasting center may be the most likely source of the interference-" He stopped and knelt to a fallen, yet bleeding man. "Go ahead, Hilde, please start an analysis while I assist this victim."
"Yeah, no problem." Kara nodded in reply to the girl's thanks. She followed Brainy inside, glancing around at her surroundings. Nothing really seemed out of place...
She started after Brainy when he began to head down the stairs, but paused when he called back. The main broadcasting center...
"Alright, Brainy, we'll meet you there. ...Call me if you get into trouble, alright?" She called back, the tiniest tinges of worry and care in her voice. She knew she didn't really need to tell him that. He could handle his own.
She turned to Hilde then, nodding. "Alright. I'm no hacker, but I can probably help out if you need me to. Just let me know what needs to be done."
Hilde nodded "Just follow my lead. If you can work the computer terminals, it'll be easy enough." she rushed down the halls, all marked with directions at their corners. It was an easy path to the main broadcasting station. And inside, amongst the room full of seats and the adjoining room of cameras, were computers. Hilde raced forward, practically jumping the first once she saw. Her hands started moving, quicker than she'd ever typed before.
Data began to sprout onto the screen, reading off information to her.

"I would." she may not like him much so far but that didn't mean she put other peoples' lives second to her mood.
