...as much as I was against the Patriots, so that was a disappointing conclusion to the game.
In other news, my Sunday was anything but a day of rest. I ushered at church, attended and spoke at church business meeting, worked at Church in the Yard feeding the homeless, went back to church to oversee the ushers at the organ concert, and then headed over to Mike's to watch the game, bearing walnut and pistachio baklava from Istanbul.
Their pistachio baklava is the best baklava I have ever eaten. Not too sweet, and each piece is four perfect bites.
Because I was going to be on my feet all day, I wore my New Balance athletic shoes to church. As it turns out, the bottoms of the shoes are the same color as the jacket I wore, so the music director, who spends most of the service in the balcony with the choir and organ, came up to me at the organ concert and complimented me on matching my shoes to my outfit. When I looked at him and then at my shoes, which are silver and white on top, and asked what he meant, he said, "I saw them when you knelt at the chancel rail during the Eucharist." :-)
