Manuel Coello, my uncle, was killed on wednesday 20 whilst working on a paper route.
He was with his brother, delivering newspapers at night when a black man (who was apparently stoned at the time) asked them for money. At their refusale, he produced a gun.
My uncle told his brother to run and he would catch up.
He was shot.
He died on the spot.
This is a sad time for me and my family, I looked up to him because he was a great man. He was a hard worker, provided for his family (wife and 4 kids) and was a fun guy to be around.
This saddens me. Whoever did it I wish dies. I know some may think that a life for a life is unjust, but justice was made by civilized people to treat other civilized people. A man who shoots another one over money whilst drugged is not civilized at all.
My mom is going to go to San Francisco for a week to be with my sister and cousins...I'd go too but I have to stay with my dad...he too works delivering stuff (he's a courier) and what just happened has me a bit shaken up.
RIP Manuel, RIP
Btw, here are some link to internet articles about it:
http://www2.cbs5.com/localwire/localfsnews/bcn/2005/07/21/n/HeadlineNews/ROBBERY-HOMICIDE/resources_bcn_htmlhttp://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/07/21/BAepa21.DTL ... I still cant believe he's dead. "They killed him", those words my mom told us amongst her tears yesterday still echo in my head...This is a very hard blow for my family...
