Thursday at work was an interesting day. It started off as soon as I walked in the door. A guy I used to work with over 10 years ago at a different location was there. He was in a wheelchair. I asked him what happened and he told me that he had a really bad accident about 6 months ago. I knew that he used to race dirtbikes, so I asked him if the accident was while racing. It was. He is now paralyzed from the waist down. His doctors are telling him that there is little chance that he will gain the use of his legs again, but he is still hopeful.
But wait, there is more...
Then later on in the night, the motorcycle group that has their meetings in my store came in. It was a very low key meeting. Turns out that one of their members died last Saturday while on one of the chapter rides. She had a heart attack while on the back of her husbands bike, and fell. She was a very nice lady and she will be missed.
And the night just keeps getting better, it doesn't stop there.
On my drive home after work, I saw a car on the side of the freeway that was engulfed in flames. Of course it had to be less than a mile away from the Highway 92 exit on the southbound side. I am glad that it was on the opposite side of the freeway from me and that I didn't have to look at it. My emotions were already kind of on edge because of everything that had happened at work, and seeing a car fire so close to 92 hit me kind of hard. Oh well, I will get over it. Eventually.
Needless to say I haven't had the best of days. But I am not going to let that stop me from trying to have a good day tomorrow. Today is over, Tomorrow is on the way. Not sure if I can sleep, but I am going to give it a shot.
