Life on Mars post-series thoughts
First and foremost...
SAM AND ANNIE GOT TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I won't lie. It was one of the reasons I kept watching the show. I can't help it. I live and breathe ship. It's my life.
I really liked the ending! The middle of the episode, when Sam was figuring out that he was actually from 1973, and that he had betrayed his friends for nothing made my heart rip out of my chest. Wow. I knew the ending, of course, since I looked it up on Wikipedia yesterday. (Yes, I know, bad Ariel.) But all I knew was the very end, I had no clue what was to transpire in the middle! And it was gut-wrenching.
I thought Kate was going to have a heart attack when Sam leapt off the building at the end. Apparently there was an alternate ending where they cut the whole "Sam is back in 1973" bit, and just had Sam leap from the building, and then a jogger almost gets squished by his falling body. ZOMG,DEPRESSING!!
THe ending they aired, however, was rather adorable.
(That's spoiler-y, by the way. It also makes me melt into a million different puddles of goo.)
Oh Sam Tyler, why can't you be real? And mine??
Night time, I think. I hate to come down from this high. Tis so delightful. I can't wait until I fall in love, and not just watch people. I will be up so high, the real world won't even EXIST anymore. /grins
