Went to the beach this morning. I sat there, pensively looking out into the ocean while listening to the Lost season one soundtrack. Best ever. I was supposed to be picking up trash, because I was at this coastal clean-up event, but I couldn't resist.
And my DVR exploded this week. Pilot week is so awesome. Then again, it's very depressing. You know how I was saying that all my shows ended last year, except for Chuck? I've been scrambling around, looking for new shows to watch. For some reason, all my shows ended up bunched into threes on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I kind of hoped that a few of them failed. On Monday, there was Chuck, The Event, and Hawaii 5-O. Then on Wednesday, there was Undercovers, Modern Family, and... probably something else that I forgot to watch. D:
Chuck
I'm pretty glad that Chuck hasn't been canceled, but what I'm happiest about is the fact that it hasn't completely jumped the shark. It's been around for a while now and it's still the same Chuck that I've gotten to know and love. I mean, I could have totally gone without the Olivia Munn cameo, but... Actually, I'm thinking about writing an angry letter about that one.
DEAR OLIVIA MUNN,
The Event
If Lost and 24 had a baby... I would question the hell out of the science of that outcome and wonder why it's on NBC of all places. I got a little antsy watching the show. I had a hard time sitting still, but that might've been because I had things to do and I'm not used to having a three-hour TV show schedule. Also, what was going on didn't really hook me. It didn't keep me on the edge of my seat. Until the last three minutes. The fucking plane went through a tear in the time-space continuum, y'all. I sort of want answers as to why and how that happened. Good job, cliffhanger.
Hawaii 5-O
Now this is what I was waiting for. The panel at Comic-Con got me so excited. And I wear the shirt that I got from the panel. And I started following Daniel Dae Kim on Twitter. And I kept seeing the ads on the sides of buses. I was counting down the days. Then we get this thing. James Marsters is killing the guy's father. Awesome! They're... focusing on these two white guys. Alright. Oh, hey, there's Daniel Dae Kim. Oh, he's gone. There's Grace Par-- Oh, she's taking off her dress. :\ Fine, fine, I'll give them props for depicting the elements of racism in Hawaii, like they said they would. And there's some actual feel-good heart to the show. I'll probably be back for the next episode, but I'm not sure if it's worth watching at 10 PM on Monday nights or using my DVR space on this one.
Undercovers
Yeah, I forgot to record and/or watch this show when it aired. I wasn't too excited about the show, so it wasn't much of a loss. I watched it online yesterday. It's a spy show. It's... very ordinary. I'm not gonna knock the writing or acting, because all that was fine. It's just that I don't know why I'd watch it. From what I can get from the pilot episode, it's just a clean-cut, through-and-through spy show. I don't even like spy shows. Probably not gonna watch the next episode, unless I hear that it's gotten a little interesting.
Modern Family
I... didn't really watch TV on Wednesday. I'll probably watch all the episodes that've aired with my sister once she's in town. She loves this show and has showed me the first season. I can see why it won all those Emmys.
Forgotten Show #1
Oh, lawl. That's right. The Office. That... We've had a rocky relationship for a few years. Will I break it off with The Office soon? Most likely. I've skipped out on dozens of my dates with this show already. :(
All in all, what I've learned from this week is that my standards and my daily living has been impacted by Lost far too much. And yet I regret nothing. Booyah.
