We just took our kitten in to the vet for a check up and to be vaccinated and dewormed.  The vet figures she's at least 12 weeks old and says we should wait another month before having her spayed.  She was seriously stressed out by being put in her carrier for the car ride.  Poor thing cried the entire way there and home.  The vet says she's in ( Read more... )

My one year old nephew has been hospitalized with all of the classic symptoms of Kawasaki's Syndrome.  He was hospitalized previously and they gave him the standard treatment of high-dose aspirin and gamma globulin and he seemed to improve, but as soon as they got him home he relapsed, which means his case might be one of the more dangerous kind.   ( Read more... )

My kitten plays fetch.  She brings me her little mouse toy (filled with catnip) for me to throw.  She runs and gets it, beats the thing up a little, then drops it at my feet and looks expectantly.  I thought only dogs did that:)

I'm trying to complete the final chapter of "A Cup of Terror" but I can't seem to get anything down on paper (or, in actuality, into my computer).  This is why I rarely if ever write anything 'supernatural'--because I have a heck of a time getting past how ridiculous it all is to suspend disbelief long enough to write one damned chapter--arrrrggggg ( Read more... )

I have yet another of a series of job interviews in a half an hour.  It's just for a job at a bookstore, nothing extraordinary, but at least I would be employed, so I really want it to go well.  I'm really nervous!  I wish I could say that it was an interview for a high paying, super-important job, but we're talking me here.  I'm a bit of a loser, ( Read more... )
