i always feel compelled to update my livejournal at work when a really fucking awesome song comes on KEXP.
perhaps in order to remind everyone that my radio station is better than your's. i have been completely spoiled by it.
anyway, news in life:
things are confusing as ever. i have been plagued by some really bad dreams, which i am getting better at controlling once i wake up in the morning. you know how you can have a dream about hating someone in your life and then the feeling carries over to the next day? yeah, a lot of that has been happening.
spring break is next week and i will be getting out of seattle for a little bit, which is so so so soso necessary right now.
at the same time, i have a lot to do over spring break between the merit scholarship show, having a good hunk of articles to read and two new projects to start.
i'm getting over a gnarly throat infection that has caused my glands to become hard as rocks. i've been spitting all over the place and trying to drink a lot of tea. it was hard to swallow, but most of that has subsided. i think my body had been fighting it off for a while, too, because i managed to go most of winter without getting sick. i'm too busy to take proper care of myself right now.
i spent a total of 9.5 hours at school this weekend, finishing my paintings for the critique today. it felt good to get them done.. but i also feel a little cheated because they're so goddamned small and i've been used to working large for 2 years now.
lindsey and i are probably going to move out of our apartment near the end of may. we figure we could find something better for the amount of money we're spending, maybe we could even find an affordable two bedroom! but thats probably wishful thinking if we want to stay on the hill. a move will be nice; it'll be good to get away from my ghosts (i hope - i might miss them more than i think).
i've begun the one-polaroid-a-day-for-a-year project. more as a means of documentation than anything else. i'm on day 34 i believe.
maybe i will compile a scrapbook out of them. who knows? it's an expensive endeavor, but it's been worth it so far.
that's it. have a good week.
