Me: "It's NHL playoff season right now: Him: "NHL?" Me: "Ah, right. Hockey. I'm a prety big fan" Him: "Oh... of course. Ice hockey, or regular hockey?"
Hee. I knew I wasn't in the US anymore when a score in a hockey game made the entire neighborhood suddenly come to life. I don't even see that much noise during the Superbowl on my old neighborhood :-). Was kind of cool actually. Simultaneously balconies filled with people cheering, horn started honking and there was a mass celebration. But definitely not something I am used to seeing.
When the Canucks win around here, you know it, unless you're deaf. And blind. And stupid. Cuz you weren't watching on tv. Or listening on the radio. They should revoke your citizenship for that, seriously.
That's my brother, Zane, in case it's not clear. No livejournal account, dontcha know (he's just a _mechanical_ engineer, so he doesn't really "get" technology.)
But I'll happily accept the congratulations, too. The whole family is pretty thrilled about the upcoming addition.
