Another FranzathonNote: Shaved off about 7-9 minutes since first half marathon, not taking into account stopping at lights and elevation increase in runs, which probably makes my official pace time a bit faster.

Bataan Death Run 19.5Even though I'd ran this route before, this time it was the most challenging. I think it was because I'd trained too hard the week prior (not long distances but I was pushing vigorously), my diet was off, I'd been super-depressed and not sleeping, and the air quality being terrible... all of these factors just made for a bad run, as I had to walk a good third of the route. However in a very cool right-of-passage kind of way, I had three firsts that were made:
• First time that I "Hit The Wall"
• First time almost blacking out from reason stated above
• First roadside puking. A neon green mix of bile, water, and a little bit of energy gel.
Certainly don't feel like an amateur anymore. AND the best part is, I finally get to start to taper! I have a half-marathon next Saturday, but runs will be getting shorter and shorter as the 3rd of August approaches. Needless to say the excitement/nervousness is building.
