i made my first "grown up" purchase yesterday. i bought a car!! it's a 2005 echo -- base model, but adding a cd player will be cheap...and, right now i don't think i want a fancy cd player in a newer car sitting out on the street in my neighborhood. i could have bought a brand new yaris hb for about the same price, BUT for practicality, a 4 door, less bubbly and "cute" will be better for me in the long run. my parents are driving it out to me tonight since it got detailed and inspected this morning. it has super low miles on it, so i still got the factory warranty that will go until 2010. i paid for it in cash, so, i am a college graduate with a newer car and still have no debt and still have enough money to buy my new laptop in a few months and will *still* have money left over after that for insurance etc.
i realized that a down payment on a typical-what-i-could-afford house could be about what i paid for my car, so that's nice to know too. for some reason, i was thinking down payments were a lot more.

last week i got my new website launched finally. i'm happy with it. i want to add a link to my resume, but i'll do that later.

i got an email today from the design firm i sent my resume to. sounds like i'll go in to interview next week -- hopefully they have an opening around lunch time so i can keep it on the down low.
this weekend jake and i are going to the tri-cities for a wedding, so i'm going to buy some veneer, etc., and have jake's dad help me make a new, smaller book with his woodworking tools.

that's all for now. bye.
