wow, that's totally insane! it'd be one thing if you both lived remotely close to UCLA, but...damn. i have the (mis)fortune of knowing all of my childhood friends still, they're all potheads or assholes or felons.

It's still quite shocking to me as I've gone over this endless times in my head for the past few hours. But I guess I can attribute a lot of it just to how similar we really are. We used to always talk about moving to California one day and we actually ended up applying to a lot of the same colleges. But five years ago, I was almost positive I'd never see her again.

I know plenty of potheads, assholes, and/or felons now...I was just a lot more antisocial when I was a kid ;)
