Brave new beginnings ... round 3?

Well, I have had *zero* places interview me here in Portland. I only have a few more months of income from my old job left to go before I start draining my savings.

So, 80% of the job interviews I have had have been for Atlanta companies. I was woken up by an Atlanta recruiter today asking if I would consider a position with them. So I have finally decided to bite the bullet and move to Atlanta.

Over the past year, I've had my eye on a condo in downtown Atlanta. While I was down there, I made a low-ball offer I never thought had a chance of being accepted and to my intense joy (and added stress) they accepted it. Unless the financing doesn't go through, I'll now be living in a downtown condo like I've wanted to try out for years now. =)

On the incredibly down side, I'll be leaving this area. Hopefully not permanently whatsoever. A lot of the work I'm finding is contracts. I'm hoping to ride it out a year or two, then re-apply to Portland jobs when the economy recovers, or re-secure a work-from-anywhere job like I had, and then get to be back here often. The PacNW has definitely been filled with the greatest folks and I will miss them very much.

On the plus side, the few folks I've met in Atlanta have all been intensely awesome, so I'm hoping that it'll be a good batch of folks to hang with. =)

So, this will be the third major 'new start' in my life. Incredibly exciting, and a fair bit of anxiety, but I have hopes it'll all turn out for the best =D
