Whoever said that is a fucking idiot who hasn't paid a goddamned fucking bit of attention to the National League at all for the past three years and does not deserve to be listened to at all. Ever. Not even if he's yelling out, like, 'free cookies! I have free cookies!'

Graves has racked up a shitload of saves in the past three years, yes, and gotten a lot of publicity for it, but that's all the more reason to notice that for the past three years, Graves has not been the pitcher he was in 1999 and 2000, when he posted an average ERA of 2.75. He had a fastball in the 91-93 MPH range and a sick, dipping slider.

As a result, the Reds overworked him during those years, didn't let up even when it was clear that he was overworked and sucking to the tune of a 4.14 ERA in 2001, and hey, guess who had a great idea in 2003 to turn Danny into a STARTER just when he'd had something of a comeback year in 2002 and thus try to get ~200 innings innings in one year out of a dude who broke down when he was asked to pitch that many over the course of two years?

That's right! My favorite GM ever, Bob Boone. Dumb reptile-fucking pisslicker.

In short, Graves has always been a fastball/slider guy. He lost his fastball a while back. Last season, it became pitifully clear that he'd also lost his slider. He put together a decent campaign in 2003 and 2004 because of sheer luck and, also, the fact if the REDS were close enough so that he would get called in for the save, chances were that the other team sucked. The Reds still suck this year, but Danny's luck has given out.

a;dlkfja;leiur;lghdefh I am sorry to unload the world's longest comment about that to you, but the idea of Danny Graves sucking this year becuase he is no long on steroids is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in weeks. This includes me, like, watching the Bill O'Reilly show and several hours a day of reality TV.
