Coffee- I noticed that Sheetz has a new flavor of coffee, something called "vanilla nut". And while I would otherwise be estatic, I'm peeved that they took away hazelnut, which is my favorite coffee flavor in the world. But when I got a cup of the vanilla nut, it tasted almost exactly like hazelnut coffe. My theory is that Sheetz changed the name while keeping the flavor the same in order to attract a broader audience. I'm still peeved, it tasted better when it was called hazelnut.
Jobs- I considered applying at Sheetz for a job, they pay well. But after getting a college diploma I'm tired of being a wage slave. I applied at the hospital laboratory and another firm called Lancaster Labs. I'm hoping Lancaster Labs at least calls me because they were looking for chemists and I spent $1.75 mailing off the application. If the hospital hires me, I would be a lab technician/phlebotomist. There are always the temp agencies. I'm am searching in Frederick, Baltimore, Lancaster, Harrisburg and York. I'm hoping for Frederick or Lancaster, but we'll see.
German- I've been studying for several months now. Part of my studying included reading bits of a German InStyle magazine. I've been meeting with Margit for about a month now and focusing on coversation. I know some basic vocab and speaking skills so next time I'm in Germany I can talk about more than the wetter and the seasons. I'm beginning to understand written and spoken German and I no longer feel like I'm banging my head against a wall. I feel like I'm actually retaining the information and maybe one day I'll be able to speak German as well. Several German sources have informed me my prononciation of German is better than my French. Ha.
TV- I was super excited that in my absence my parents got satellite TV. But then again, they kept all the same channels and only did it because it was cheaper than cable. So when I'm flipping through channels all of the cool stations like Showtime, Cinemax and HBO are all blacked out, however I can still see on the channel markers all of the awesome movies I'm missing. Today I ended up watching four episodes of America's Next Top Model. I thought I was only going to watch one, but then two hours later I was still watching. At least I was on the stationary bike during one episode and partly redeemed myself.
So... I wish everyone a wonderful Sunday!
