The Biden-Palin debate: the
Ten Minute Version, occasionally amusing. This is also worth passing around:
What still makes me somewhat incredulous is that so many people who had quite possibly never heard of this woman just a few weeks ago, or maybe had never even so much as heard her speak, will soon be enthusiastically voting her into the second highest office in the US. That fact alone beggars belief, but then the flipside to their logic is obviously to vote in a Communist Muslim. Like Bush, Palin is another person I cannot bear to look at when she talks. Biden, on the other hand, seemed to be talking straight, and as a Brit I have been equally unfamiliar with him. I hope I do not have to see or hear from Palin beyond November.
fringefaan gives credit to Biden for the correct use of the word "Bosniak", whereas Palin can't even correctly pronounce "nuclear". All of which shows these people are really in two different leagues entirely: the better candidate could have cleaned up decisively, but supporters of Palin are claiming that she won, presumably because she didn't completely embarrass herself. See above.
This is all an enormous gamble, a bad dream. The rest of the world hopes it will end soon.
