And Here's a Little Dub from our Friends

Hello Kiddies,

People on social networking sites are remembering John Lennon today and of course so are we.

As bad as it is for my rock & roll cred, I've never been a huge Beatles fan. I mean they wrote some good stuff, and they influenced all that came after them, especially KISS. Even the songs I really like by The Beatles only hit me superficially. Sgt. Pepper's is widely regarded as their masterpiece and while I don't own that, I did pick up the next best thing.
The Easy Star All Stars are known for doing reggae versions of classic rock albums. I discovered them about a year or so ago when they did their Thriller tribute. It's not generic either, these albums feature legendary artists like Frankie Paul, Steel Pulse, Luciano, Black Uhuru, and that's just a start.

Luciano can sing just about anything. A real nugget on this album is Sugar Minott's take on 'When I'm Sixty Four.' I think even the Liverpool boys would be impressed.

So far we've gotten tributes to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, MJ, and Radiohead, what could be next? I personally hope they do a KISS record. That would be mindblowing.
