Ringing In 2012

Hello Kiddies,

The New Year has started on a wonderful and positive note with family and friends.

All the guests have gone home and I'm sitting in repose drinking the elixir of life with the music soothing me. I decided to keep my copy of Ceremonials and I'm glad I did, it's very good. (I had to play KISS' Double Platinum first because it's just the right thing to do.)

The festivities for this year's holiday were DRASTICALLY different than last year's Eve and Day but since that year went downhill from there maybe that's a good thing.

New Year's Eve was spent at the joyful abode of catelynn & volund for a small intimate gathering. We were joined by STB aka warmsapphiretes, the powerful and attractive evilsausage, the MastoDon, and a rare and wonderful appearance by Morgan HMQ. I have said it before and I'll say it again. I owe that woman so much for making me into who I am. Morgan was the one who picked me out and started getting me involved more at TES and was the best mentor and friend anyone could have. Catelynn cooked a wonderful dinner for us, and there was wonderful dessert as well which is fitting. We watched the ball drop on NY1 which is much better than most of the other stations that broadcast it because they do so sans incessant commentary. The rest of the evening passed with good music and conversation (and part of a Batman marathon!) and we all crashed there for the night.

New Year's Day is a very special day for my family because it's the one time a year when ALL of my extended family gets together (all the cousins from Long Island) at my Aunt Joanne's house. This year was the first gathering since Ronnie's passing so it was all the more special and of course the events of my recent struggles were fresh in everyone's mind. AJ has always had an open door policy if I wanted to bring friends so STB, Sausage, and dear friend Roberto and son all accompanied me. Why should any of my friends be alone on the holiday? Everyone got along swimmingly! Interesting conversation was had, food was heartily consumed, Wii was played (by the kids not me), and a good time was had by all. I said it before and I'll say it again. I love my family and am very fortunate to have them. This was for me a perfect way to end the holiday season and ring in the year. My Bio and Leather Families have all blessed me with love and support and I am looking forward to a great 2012. Happy New Year everyone, here's the year's first video.

I'm off tomorrow so I'll probably go see The Muppets and work on some of those goals. :) Tuesday we return to the HSB but that doesn't seem so scary anymore.
