Hello Kiddies,
This has been a very quiet month here in the HSB, as per de facto tradition. February has for the past few years been one of the roughest months on record, as winter rages, minds numb and hearts race (and vice versa). Hence there's no surprise that our creativity hits a dead-end. Luckily enough though, it is also the shortest, maybe by leap time enough will have improved that I'll be thankful for the extra day. That philosophy however needs to be put aside for now. When we last left our hero, mounds of snow, computer malfunctions, and general life shit had piled on high leaving us buried amidst angst, isolation, and negativity.
I walked down my block today and saw no sign of snow on a dry street. The first time in two months I have been able to do that. I went outside without a jacket and greeted the afternoon sun and gentle breeze. Times with old and new friends have been helpful. Last week in DC was nice and I had a similar low-key hang with peeps this week at home. Mom's desktop came back from Staples wiped clean, and I installed enough of the programs for the machine to run. At some point when I have the time and bandwidth, I will reintegrate her files.
There's more stuff for locked posts and the filters, and that will come. In the mean time I feel like things are reaching a level of do-ability again. The Spring Schedule is starting to take form and I'm figuring out where it all fits. Is there more? Yes, assloads, but for now the emotional dam is doing it's job.
My iPod had some shuffling serendipity lately that I'll share just for shits and giggles.
THE TIME COMES
(Nina Gordon)
From the album 'Bleeding Heart Graffiti' by Nina Gordon
I wait for the day to break me,
I look up to the sky,
I look back on the life that graced me,
When you were mine.
The time comes, the time comes,
The time comes, the time comes,
The time comes, the time comes,
And then it goes, then it goes away.
Don't try to read the silence,
Don't try to live it down,
'Cause I've learned a thing or two about patience,
And I have found...
The time comes, the time comes,
The time comes, the time comes,
The time comes, the time comes,
And then it goes, then it goes away.
I wait for the day to break me,
I look up to the sky,
I look back on the life that graced me,
When you were mine.
The time comes, the time comes,
The time comes, the time comes,
The time comes, the time comes,
And then it goes, then it goes away.
Once again thanks for listening folks.
