Wow, what a trip to the Canadian Rockies. TJ and Greg live out there near Calgary. I went with Travis out there and it was a great trip. This is the first of three movies I will make, with highlights from the trip:

My nephew Hunter had his confirmation on November 11th in New Jersey. I had the day off, so I drove my parents there, and my sister hosted a dinner afterward. As usual, my brother Gary and I joined my parents in a drive up to Rhode Island for Thanksgiving. My other brother Robert lives in Rhode Island with his family, and they host Thanksgiving each year. Two days ago I returned from a 7 day vacation to Provincetown, MA for bear week. I went with two friends, Frankie and James. It was a great time. Great setting, very relaxing, but also crazy fun.

Las Vegas is such an oddity.
I was predisposed to not like it:
It exists where a city shouldn't exist.
It is almost completely built since World War II,
therefore it's almost completely car-dependent for everything.
It's ostentatious and chincy.
Its economy is based on fluff.

But it was fun!
It was larger and much more grandiose than I expected.

The whole reason I went to Las Vegas was that my friend Frankie was invited to a destination wedding there, and he invited me as his guest. We stayed at a time share hotel with two male-female couples who were also invited to the wedding and knew Frankie. I had met the wedding couple once, and one of the couples once before also.

Before I went to Las Vegas, a few people including my parents said that I should try to visit Hoover Dam while I am out there. Once there, my friend Frankie and I penciled it in and actually took a drive there on our second day there.
