I think my favorite part of the whole thing was how the woman they were living with (have forgotten her name by now) sounded almost exactly like Janis Joplin. Who was a goddess.

Sadie. Indeed, I do believe that was the point. On the website it says she was in a show, off Broadway, about Janis Joplin (and she played...Janis Joplin).
